Momma’s Flowers
Momma’s Flowers is a demo compilation of some of my bluegrass flavored writings. These tracks were provided by Justin Carbone and Troy Engle of Unplugged Demos, Nashville along with three vocals, #3, #4,#13, by Dana Romanello, also of Nashville, one track, #11, by Bob & Dave Dick of Blackstone Valley Bluegrass of MA and track #12 by Bob DiQuattro of CT. Sound bites of all tracks are available on this page. All songs are available for licensing.
Myrna Riquier
This project is dedicated to my mother who was my most loyal fan, the late Pearl Youther. The title song was written especially for her.

CD review by Classic Music for Tomorrow, Vernon Tart
Vernon writes:
I grew up in North Carolina which is steeped in the traditional sounds of bluegrass and country music. Here in New England where I currently live this music is not as prevalent, but it still has a faithful following.
Myrna Riquier is a songwriter who has written some fine bluegrass numbers, demonstrating that she has a good handle on how to incorporate that traditional sound in her writings. She has also taken a different route than most songwriters by using Nashville Session musicians to perform her songs. With the nondescript artist playing the music that she has written we hear solid roots bluegrass music that is steeped in the traditional style of the bluegrass pioneers.
You might easily expect to hear The Coon Creek Girls or The Stanley Brothers playing this music to their adoring followers. The use of the Nashville Session players gives this CD project a high-quality performance that you sometimes don’t get with songwriters who put out their own demos.
Myrna captures the hopes and joys of life and living in her songwriting. The music is more traditional than most artists write these days and that is reflected in the overall hauntingly familiar sound. The project is steeped in traditional bluegrass, lonesome, winsome and fragile. The songs Myrna has written are a joy to listen to and I hope to one day hear some artists record her songs and make them their own, which is the goal of every songwriter.
