Newsletter Vol. 4 #4

Here we are at the end of summer. How quickly did that happen! Wouldn’t it be nice if winter went by a little quicker?

We have been plugging along with our gigs and are a little more than halfway through our list of bookings.  I think the Podunk Festival in August may well have been the hottest place on earth that weekend. And that’s where we were, along with many others.  All sweating up a storm. But, as usual, it was a marvelous festival in spite of the excessive heat.

In our previous newsletter I mentioned that Still Pickin’ has a recording session planned for Oct 6. We invite you to come out to be part of our applause factor. 🙂   The session will be at the Welles Country Village, 46 Welles Road in Vernon.  You’ll find Welles Road off Route 30, right beside Elmo’s Seafood Restaurant. From that corner it’s just a few yards up Welles Road. I may have mentioned in #3 that we chose this location for its exception acoustics. We’ll likely get started at 2:30 or 3:00 pm.

The new and improved web site is now online. It was built for us by Malin Zergiebel of Thirsty Lizards, a company that specializes in web sites for musicians and festivals.  I will be able to edit this one easier than the previous one which was in DreamWeaver.  I can also add new sections and I want to mention that I am thinking about adding a new section to showcase our Still Pickin’ fans. Our remaining schedule follows.  Keep in mind that many of these gigs are just one hour in length so you’ll not want to be late arriving. If you like to go to dinners at senior centers, a couple of our remaining gigs are evening dinners; one in Griswold on Sep 9 and the other in Willington, Oct 22.
